RECEIVED A SILENT PHONE CALL THIS MORNING 23 OCT 2019 - WANTED TO REPORT IT TO BT BUT HAD TO FIND OUT IF IT WAS A SCAM PHONE CALL FIRST. OTHERWISE I COULD BE PREVENTING GENUINE CALLERS FROM USING THEIR PHONES. AFTER CHECKING ON LINE THE PHONE NUMBERS THAT I DO NOT RECOGNISE OR THOSE I HAVE ANSWERED AND FINDING OTHER REPORTS ON LINE I HAVE REPORTED THESE TO BT TO HAVE THEM STOPPED. BT HAVE A HELP LINE ON THEIR WEBSITE AND AT THE END OF THE LIST IS A SECTION FOR SCAM CALLS. I CANNOT REPORT THIS NUMBER AS

Just annoying attempt togain control of home computer as previous poster detailed. Purported microsoft engineer calls to victims home with all information of target (address tele#) saying hacker trying to acccess your PC and then directs individual to website for downloading software whose purpose is to allow caller remote control of home PC. Oh the irony!

I have caller display and never answer a call with a number I don t recognise. TPS is useless as these scam merchants don t use the listings anyway, and TPS cannot do anything about it. ICO doesn t seem to do much either. Simply let it ring... my answer-phone kicks in after twenty rings and is completely blank. I know who might call me and which calls I will answer.

called alot so i answered a few times without speaking and they hung up immediately. Then i answered and went along with "the nice man from Microsoft" who wanted to "fix" my computer. When i got to a step that would do something to my computer i told him i thought he was a fake and a terrible person for sucking people in and he got really angry and went off! These people are scum for hoaxing people who don t know computers, particularly elderly folk.
SCAM Caller advised that they were calling from UK Benefits Office and I was eligible for compensation. They had received on notification that I was owed PPI claim on a loan. I have no loan history nor credit cards or mortgages, I know I am not eligible. But he was persistent and not happy that I didn't want to confirm my bank details to receive my compensation. BLOCKED!

SCAM Presented themselves as an online competition for a DELL laptop through The Warehouse New Zealand. They asked for an entry fee to get our bank card number, took the entry fee then 3 days later took more money. The bank transaction shows as Highgames.Online and the number +44753717396 4691792... which the first part I thought might be a UK phone number, hence my post here. They have also done another transaction which shows as Sportfun.Fit and the transaction details as LIMASSOL 459534231518. Lim

Missed call, called back to find it these people asking me to do a household survey. I asked them to remove my number, they said would be done in 24-48hrs, I reminded them that they should temove it immediately (they do a call one day they sell the numbers on the next), they repeated their timeline so I reminded them of the law.
