Says there’s been a charge on my debit card for a large sum of money…press 1 if I didn’t do it….hmmm how stupid do they think people are?!?
I had my Call Blocker on so the caller was put through to my answerphone. The 'message' was just several seconds of a crackling/hissing noise, then the call terminated. This is the second call received from very similar numbers in the last few days, both numbers beginning with 0161 66. As my own number also begins with 0161 66, I suspect that someone is using similar numbers in the vain hope that I'll answer. I highly suspect that it was some sort of scam

SCAM - has to be. This number called me today. I do not answer unrecognised numbers. They left a voice mail, foreign voice, couldn't really pick up on everything said, voice was quite deep. They did say I needed to make a payment and to answer emails. SCAM Called by this number early today. Female with a strong Indian accent, said she was from Vodaphone and offering me a new contract. I cut the call short as I was busy with other things. I check after revealed the number is registered to Hutchinson 3G UK / Three UK. VERY unlikely that Vodaphone would be calling to renew my contract via a Three mobile phone. Number blocked, DANGEROUS SCAMMER for sure.
