SCAM Presented themselves as an online competition for a DELL laptop through The Warehouse New Zealand. They asked for an entry fee to get our bank card number, took the entry fee then 3 days later took more money. The bank transaction shows as Highgames.Online and the number +44753717396 4691792... which the first part I thought might be a UK phone number, hence my post here. Think it’s a scammer on FB, has hacked into an account on there and pretending to be a widower living in Bedford. The phone is being used in the Preston area. I have blocked before he tries to extract money from me. He will not send current face photo with today’s date in his hand so I know it is a scammer. The FB profile hacked looks very American not Uk. Call to my mobile. Caller didn’t identify himself, asked for someone I don’t know. I’ve had multiple calls from other numbers asking for the same person regarding timeshare claims so assume it is more of the same.
Called to tell me that there is been over thousand pounds transaction on my account today, and I should ring in to stop the transaction if I have not authorized the transaction. I checked with my bank who have told me there's been no such transaction. Clearly a scam call.
