I received a call this afternoon from David from London Police Station informing me that fraudulent transcations are taking place in my account (approx. ?3100) and it would be best for me to relocate my funds into safe keepings. Does this sound strange to anyone else? I said righto mate, "I expect that you will take care of it for me then." - Not a believer.

Called six times now in the space of an hour, I can hear the chaos of a call centre in the background but the caller doesn’t speak, call terminates at their end after about ten seconds. Annoyance blocked.

Caller claimed I had a problem with malware on my PC and he would guide me through the repair of it. He asked me to turn on my computer and when I told him no, he got aggressive, told me my PC would screw up and then hung up.

Says I have large debts, which is untrue. I have no debts.

They are based on wharf industrial estate in bury, Manchester and Blackburn. The staff who call have no idea, nor choice of who they ring as the system selects a number at random from their data, and only when the line opens do they see your name and address etc. They are legitimate in terms of what they are offering (a free hearing frequency test at your local football club/hotel) however, if you will receive any money should a claim be successful is questionable. I've received 2 or 3 calls in the last few days. Don't know anyone in Rotherham so never answer. As a customer, Vodafone contact me by text, so no logic to the call.

The person had my Christian name. He made a speculative statement that I had had a minor traffic bump within the last 2 years. I have not, so it was easy to cut the call off.

Received a call from this number today on my mobile asking for me by name. When I asked who was calling he refused to tell me before I confirmed who I was. I hung up.

kept leaving me voicemails saying my number was being removed from their database but still kept ringing, even after 8pm!!!
