Previous owner of my phone number must have signed up on their website for information, but they have been calling me for over a year despite me saying its not the right person.

Automated number. Silence; but these bots test whether a telephone line is active and gets answered. Even if we say nothing our telephone number will be added to a 'responded/active' list; a list that is then sold to scammers.

Well spoken Indian man asked for me by name, gave me my address & postcode, said he was from Domestic General and had checked my paperwork and as I had not claimed I can have a discount. Knew what products covered and type of policy, and paid on direct debit. Said paperwork will be here in a week. Received an automated cal from this number, saying that my Visa account had had two £300 withdrawn by Amazon, and a further £1000 by an overseas account, then asked if I wish to verify it. Just hung up

Claimed to be from Amazon security and wax saying someone was try to spend £700 on my account and asked for my banking info. Immediately very suspicious as sure Amazon would not do this.

Claimed it was EE, but I suspect this is most likely a SCAM call centre due to the line of questioning and the fact they simply hung up on me when they weren't getting the response they were looking for.
