Just to confirm, after my previous post I reported this number to the police, who said it definitely is a scam, and that Microsoft would never call you about this sort of thing. These people will generally want remote access to your computer to "fix a virus" or something like that. SCAM, very clever scam claiming to be from Barclays mobile banking, they send you a sms message first informing you that a new device has been registered to your mobile banking app. They request you to call the number quoting a code they sent, when you call the number, they already have your name and welcome you by your name. They then request you to log in to your banking app and generate a code. (The one I gave them was NICE TRY A-HOLE) the person said thanks and hung up. Be very careful

Ditto to last comment. Two or three times a day. If you answer it goes to a ringing tone. Balls to that. Have blocked about 30 0843 numbers so far. They just keep coming.
Answered this call and was met with a dialling tone ... Googling the number showed it to be linked to "Ambulance Chasers". They won t get a chance to call again as I ve blocked it on my iPhone. I have been inundated with calls in the last week from different numbers, but don t know why as I HAVEN T had an accident! Hopefully the law will be changed soon to bin these nuisance calls.
How did they get my number? Ex directory and knew my surname? Did not get who they were when asked.
