Told me my appliance cover was expiring shortly. When I said I wanted to make a claim he changed his mind and said it had expired. SCAM obviously, but who issues these phone numbers knowing they are used to defraud - somewhere a legit company has to be issuing these. They are no better.

Claiming to be a call blocker company and was going to block all international calls from tomorrow. They read out the details of the owner who previously had our phone number, and even had the last 4 digits of her debit card number and wanted confirmation of account number and sort code- which is extremely worrying. They are obviously an Indian scammer call centre, very poor English, trying their luck to empty your account. What?s so alarming is they buy these details from crooks who work for the U.K.
Called 7 times in last 2 days, answered twice but phone put down however my recent calls look as if I have made the call not received it! Very worrying!

They cold-call phoned me about renewal of insurance on kitchen white goods. They needed some banking details to alter the payment paperwork because they were giving me a no-claims discount. Knew enough about me to make this plausible. I 'needed to go to an appointment' [actually true] so I had to ask them to phone back tomorrow - which they were readily willing to do. Despite being registered with TPS I continue to get calls but this one was so duller than average. "Martin" called from an "events company" about an event in my area blah blah offering a meeting with a money grabbing financial consultant. He talked for so long without pausing to let me answer that I thought it must be a recording. Then he got to the question - do I want to have a meeting - and when I said no he asked why. I began to answer him but he hung up. Cut me off in mid-sentence.
