Pretends to be from BT. They already have some of your personal information to gain your confidence. They ask you to confirm a pass code that they send to your phone or email which gives them access to your BT account and more personal information. They then try to get you to log on to your computer etc.

SCAM told me they were from a financial well-being company then proceeded to ask me details like name etc. They'd already know that if genuine.

Calling an investment opportunity I have allegedly registered for! Absolute rubbish!!!

This was the number that called me back after responding to a search on Google for an emergency plumber. The booking for a call out was £50 to start with and then there would be charge for the work done. By the time the plumber arrived a friend had resolved the problem and he was not needed. He still insisted on doing something and then charged £220! When we challenged they reduced it to £150. I advised that this was a total rip off! Do not use 24/7 Emergency Services!

Call center SPAM Said his name was Alex, however he had a very strong Indian accent. He said that he was phoning from British Gas!? It was about boiler cover, house hold cover for both gas and electric. Asked a couple of questions. He said that he was calling from London, when I asked him what the weather was like in India, and it would be set up today! Claiming to be a company called Phones Ltd about a 40% discount code for o2 - even though that’s not my network provider. Put another person on the phone when she got flustered, male then started asking me my security question, what model of phone I had, mt network provider was etc. SCAM - avoid!! Trying to hack into my details. Do NOT give any details to this caller!!

Definitely a scam. They obtained a DHL notification for something ordered overseas then try and make you think you need to pay import duty. Do not ring as number transfers to foreign network.

Caller told me they were from visa and someone was trying to use my card for something costing over £900. It said I should press 1 to cancel or 2 to go ahead. Its obviously nothing to do with Visa so I pressed nothing and hung up the call immediately.
