Fraud SCAM The caller claimed to be from mobile phone promotion department offering a discount. I established that the caller was a fraud and called them out at which point they stopped being polite and friendly and began to taunt and be abusive. This call has been reported to the UK National Cyber Security Centre.

SCAM Fraud Caller said they were from "banking credit control" and wanted my name and date of birth because he had seen fraudulent activity on my card. When I said I had 4 cards he again asked for my name and DOB so I made something up and he said he could definitely see £300 going to Amazon and £1100 as an International Money Transfer to China! I again asked him which of the 4 cards he was talking about and when he said VISA I told him I didn't have a VISA card and he put the phone down.

It was to do with my banking contract to help improve my banking package deal ie IF you pay for a premium banking service IE Lloyds Gold where in paying a monthly fee for your account they offer you various insurance packages the twit who phoned me was trying to tell me he was going to improve on my current offer!! After dozens of missed calls from this number - I never answer a number I do not recognise - I rang back the 0207 number and got a recorded message with another number to call to unsubscribe - 0207 619 7888. You need to quote the number they ve called you on and tell them it s Shelter, as they re obviously a telemarketing company with a number of clients. I donated to Shelter by text and since then have been plagued by these calls at all hours. Waiting to see if they re as good as their word...

Checked number elsewhere as no comments here. Some say British gas (number on their website) re smart meters, some say call disconnected if you ask questions, some say messages received like from aliens...? I don t know but would like to bar these calls. Going for 5 as not sure what it really is!
