Woman with a foreign accent called purporting to be from British Telecom and referring to my Internet connection. I did not let her proceed any further and indicated that I did not have the Internet. SCAM / SPAM what yourself folks, just had a call from HMRC (not) automated telling me I owe money and if I didn't press 1 to pay a warrant will be made for my arrest. Call me a rebel, but I didn't press 1. The number they called from was 01204 921512
I called this number back and they said it was vodafone. He wanted to chat about my contract but got disconnected. I contacted vodafone to check if this number was them and they confirmed that it was a courtesy call from them, so it seemed to be genuine.
It's probably some sort of scam! I have had 4 phone calls today from different numbers in different areas. The last one I researched was Carphone warehouse
