I was called by this number on 4 Oct but it rang off before I could answer. My phone generates a caller list and for this number it was shown as 02070-603887. Normally 0207 or 0208 numbers do NOT have a hyphen inserted in them, therefore I am suspicious of it & have not rung it back.

A foreigner called saying he was from British Gas who handle our Electricity account. Only British Gas doesn't handle our electricity account? I advised him that I suspected he was a scammer. I advised him not to call us again otherwise I would report the number to the Information Commissioners. I then ended the call.
Call from these people "UK Advice Bureau" IIRC saying someone had a car accident in the last two years. Goodbye! About time something real was done about these people. All of them.

When I explained that I did not have a phone line from BT any more, I asked how could he know that my internet connection had been compromised. This company ring on various different numbers all starting with 0207946 - they then change the last 4 digits to avoid the block this number on peoples phone. Other last 4 digits include the following 1958 , 0143, 0364, 0996, 1369 1821 and others i presume. They are ambulance chasers and scammers. BLOCK them
