Very suspicious but I can't work out what is happening??? A guy called me saying he had a missed call from me. I didn't recognize his number and thought it would be very unlikely for me to ring a random number like that by accident. He insisted that I had called him though and he was merely calling back. Checked my dialed call log - no I hadn't called him!!! I'm therefore trying to work out what the scam might be???

DANGEROUS SCAM. The Phone rang and caller (a computer) hung up when I didn't speak! This was a computer generated call trying to sniff out voice lines. If you answered "hello" or anything else then the line will be detected as 'a voice line' and you'll likely be called back later by some con-artist! They may also be quick to say they are not selling, simply enquiring, surveying, etc. THESE CALLS ARE SCAMS & HARASSING.

Do not trust this number - it is my landline number which has been 'spoofed' by a scammer. I have reported it to Ofcom and my service provider but there is apparently nothing that can be done to prevent this illegal activity in the short term.

An Asian accented female called from this number. Insisting she was from Vodafone. Said she had a deal for me and was given my number to offer this great deal but no details about my contract. I said she should have my contract, she said no, this went back and forth. The deal was worse then my current contract. I said she was wasting my time. She said I was wasting hers and got rude. Scam Indian call centre, says internet is broken and tries to get you to download a remote access computer program so they can take over your computer and then claim a ransom from you. Suggest you keep them hanging on the line as long as possible but don't download anything or give them your details. Just string them along and frustrate them.
