claimed to be from my internet provider-asked me to confirm router was working ok as had received large volume of calls. When I advised I was not at home(despite the fact they had called my landline) heard whispered conversation with a workmate/supervisor,asked to perform the same check on router again I repeated that I was not at home. SCAM number showed as 01942794042 however, it was definitely from a call centre and the female voice started the call with "thank-you for connecting with BT" which seemed odd. Turns out it was one of those dodgy activity on your internet connection calls - as usual I denied having and internet connection a mobile phone and even a landline. She gave up in frustration before I did

I googled them but still don t know what I d be paying for if I had made the payment. Direct selling, debt ollecting, checking out companies - I ve never had anything to do with any of that and I don t have any debts.

Claims to be calling from Carphone Warehouse offering a deal on mobile phone. Didn't give them time to explain, asked them to remove my number and never call me back and blocked them. Given my employer has just highlighted to us that there is a scam doing the rounds from companies claiming to be from mobile phone companies, and I have never had any dealings with Carphone Warehouse - its likely this is a scam
On checking with O2 the above number and caller WAS a genuine call from O2. Apologies O2.
