Received a call from this 020 37270486, there was an automated message stating that the call is from HMRC and there was a fraud case linked to my name and if I didn’t press 1 to speak to an advisor I’d immediately go to jail. I then got connected to an advisor with non british accent that asked me my name, I was busy looking the number up online so told the person to hold the line and he hung up immediately. SCAM sounded like a genuine call from Virgin Media about internet problems. Said their server had been receiving errors from my hub. Suspicious when they started asking me what apps I ran on my phone. Even more suspicious when they wanted me to download remote control software so they 'could show me the problem ' Noticeable change in tone when I said I was an IT professional. Hung up the phone and called Virgin who confirmed they'd never ask someone to download software.

I have been spammed with calls from this company. I had 4 calls in the space of 2 hours while I was in a meeting at work. I finally picked up and told them I m not remotely interested in reviewing my pensions as they are handled through my company and to remove me from their database. They persisted in being very pushy and I hung up. 30 minutes later I received another call from the number and I blocked it.

They sent me a message saying they’re from Three and I needed to fill update my billing information in order to not get ‘cancelled’, which is a bit odd since I use a Pay-as-you-go. They sent me a link to some authentic-looking website but with a suspicious URL.

Call(s) to my 93 year old mum who lives alone. She has 3 calls that she made to that number- said ?National? on phone bill - one of the calls lasted almost 15 minutes. She doesn?t remember them at all unfortunately so don?t know the reason for calls.

Anne, the city code for London is 020 but for the number to be valid then the next digit will be 3, 7, or 8. Even then it could be a spoofed number, tho!
