Contract Wise or some such name. Service claiming to be able to reduce the amount of tax paid by independent contractors. Stopped him before he could say much more as I'm no longer a contractor.
Pretended to be from Windows and said my laptop had multiple viruses and that I needed to log on so he could show me the problem. I told he picked the wrong person and hung up. Reported the number to actionfraud.

Someone called me from this number and asked me if I was "my own name". I stupidly confirmed it and then confirmed my email address. They started telling me about an iPad that I had won. <> <> <>
Then followed a lot of swearing on my part before they hung up.
Next time, if someone asks who I am, I ll ask who they are before hanging up.

This number seems to be used by some call centre - I can see very similar numbers reported, all the same range just with last digits different. A common thing - telemarketing mostly uses a range of similar numbers. This one is mostly reported with PPI, insurance marketing, RTA - accident chasers, sometimes called themselves "First Call Group" - just another big call centre. Just block it or block the range, I have been using the mobile application from these pages, works fine, no problems. Blocked
