Looks like a new number for scammers. Claimed to be from the "Technical Department of Sky", regarding my internet connection. Apparently my router has been sending them reports every time I go online. They hung up as soon as I told them my Sky router hasn't been plugged in for about three years.

He then convinces you to allow remote access so he can install drivers onto pc

phoned my elderly neighbour saying if she wanted to remain with amazon prime she had to give her bank details and pay £39.00 immediately. she has never had amazon prime. dont know how these fraudsters got her number ??!!

This is now the Twentyieth call asking for Mr Herman, who is not me. It also comes on another number 01618149030 asking the same question, in both cases it is from the North of England hence Bolton and Manchester. Pain in the butt!!.
SCAM: Fifth identical call today, once an hour, from different phone numbers (probably all spoofed) Automated female voice, claiming to be from BT Internet Dept, who have supposedly been trying to call me urgently, because of ‘suspicious activity’ on my account. SCAM This was almost definitely a scam of some kind. The caller spoke with accented English in a location with a huge amount of background chatter. He claimed to be from Carphone Warehouse offering very low prices on iPhone, Samsung and Huawei mobile phones. I do not think it was actually Carphone warehouse, as I have never provided my details to them and I would expect they had a call centre environment that sounded a bit less like the outside of a busy London pub on a sunny evening.
