Mark Bates is a specialist Insurance Broker for over 50 s and disabled people. They are a no threat caller if you re not interested ask to be removed from the re caller list. Polite genuine business that I have dealt with and had no problems for a number of years. A no hard sell telemarketer.
I have caller ID. The number 00349441210763 was shown which immediately changed to 01213140763, so I suspect the number was spoofed. The first number was probably spoofed also, as I have international calls barred. The caller had a thick foreign accent and I did not understand everything that was said. I was asked to confirm that I had a Pay-as-you-go SIM from a particular network (note the call was to my land line). I am wary of giving details to an unexpected caller. SCAM called with an automated message saying that it's from the tax office and I owe tax and to prevent going to jail that I needed to press 1 to answer them. I haven't worked in over 20years so I don't pay tax so not even the smallest possibility that I would owe any. Also the tax office would never contact you by phone. Just and scam to steal money. Claiming to be from O2 offering a mobile upgrade but when I said I'm not with O2 he said he could still offer me an upgrade. Likely some kind of con.
Ring at all hours, always silence on the other end of the phone or hang up after a few rings. Its a premium number so I guess they are looking for people to call them back so that they can make money. Extremely persistent and annoying.
