When I explained they were not in and asked if I could take a message, the caller sounded annoyed that the person he called for was not in, and then HE HUNG UP. . Cold caller? Telemarketer? I don t know these people are, but they telephone every day. Quite often the number is slightly different which makes it difficult to block.

Said he was from Domestic and General asked for my name, and then said he could not hear me could I give it again which I did. I had cancelled a insurance with D & G and thought they were ring to make me change my name. He then asked for the first name of my address and post code, and again said he couldn t hear me and asked me to repeat it again. This is when I got suspicious and hung up. I rang D & G and they apparently do not keep a record of outgoing cals.

The only way to get at these people is to go onto the Information Commisioner s website and report the number. If enough of us do this, they will investigate the number. There are very heavy fines for companies who do this. Report them every time you get a call - it is very easy to do.
