The purposefully hide their number or use a method of shadowing their number to make it seem that they are from different areas of the country including local to you. Not only do they breach harassment laws but they also break the law with regards to their contact number

They called me to say they were from Scottish Widows Life Insurance Review Team and it was for 12 month review to check my details. I don't have life Insurance with Scottish Widows so I knew it was a scam and when I questioned where they had my details from they ended call. Everyone should report the number here to Action Fraud UK, I have had calls from this person. Quite abusive to a friend of mine aswell. I reported one to www.actionfraud.police.uk or you can call them on 03001232040 fill out a crime report and stop then doing this to vulnerable people who don t know any better.

They phoned me at 7.00am - it woke me up. The only person who calls me on my home phone is my brother, and at that time in the morning I thought he may be in trouble (ie fallen, ill ). I raced down stairs - half awake - and could of had an accident myself. I don't know what they wanted because as soon as I realised it was a nuisance call I just gave a full abusive response.
