How are scam companies like these able to get our phone detals when, as mentioned above, we ve only taken out a contract from Phones 4 U about 2 weeks ago?? I have not yet answered one of these calls as i tend not to answer unknown or unfamiliar numbers but next time they call, i think i ll either repeat their questions back to them until they get p*****d off and hang up or pretend to be a take away food outlet and demand their order from them!! Found this on BBC News today regarding this type of scam "A cold caller has conned a woman in a south of Scotland village out of nearly £29,000. The incident happened in xxxx, near xxxxxx, on Saturday morning. The man phoned the 59-year-old and claimed to be from BT Openreach and said that he was investigating "suspicious activity" on her computer. He then took her through a series of instructions which allowed him to gain online access to her bank account and remove the money."
