SCAM Started with an automated message informing me that two transactions have taken place on a Visa debit card for varying amounts. Press "1" to approve, press "2" if I dont know. Pressed 2 out of curiosity and was transferred to a man asking for the reason of the call. I repeat the message I received and he then repeats the transaction amounts (obviously reading from a script). Asked him which bank this account was associated with (which he obviously doesn't know). Second call received from this number. The first time they hung up as soon as I answered. The second time, I answered it, the bloke said that they were from "Consumer Helpline ", and "ringing about any finance [I d] taken out in the past ten years and any miss-sold PPI ", as soon as he heard me say that it was an "unsolicited call", and that "I m ex directory", the bloke hung up! I dialled 1471, and the above number appeared. When I tried several times to ring them back, I ve got a computerised message

Text received from this number stating suspicious activity on my Paypal account and that they had suspended my account to prevent any fraudulent activity and to follow a link to lift the block. Clearly an attempt to get access to the Paypal account as i dont use it.

SCAM. Called me when I answered got an automated message stating that I’m being investigated for tax fraud and to press number 1. If I don’t press number 1 a warrant wil be issued for my arrest. Clearly a scam as no one gets arrested for tax fraud oh and I’m also PAYE! Beware
