they called my mobile today and hung up before I answered. I called back using my land line. A recorded message said "the call you received was a marketing call. we may or may not contact you again". I think they are just collecting real people telephone numbers to sell them on to other marketing companies. Don t do what I did because they now have both my mobile number and the land line number. Best thing to do is if you don t know the caller ignore them

Man with Indian accent. Said his name was Jerry. Called me Mrs [first initial of my oh s first name + his surname] which anyone can look up in the phonebook. Asked me if I was this person. I didn t tell him. Said he was from the Telephone Preference Service (TPS). I just pressed the red button.

Fake Windows Technical Services call, as usual wanted to show me all the viruses and malware on my computer. "Whenever you browse your Google, it picks up the viruses and malware and we can remove them". Clueless. Refused to follow his instructions, so he threatened to "block my computer". Oh no. Keeps calling , haven t answered it but when they leave a voice mail it is completely silent !! Don t trust numbers that wont leave a verbal message.

I answered this call and it was from a local O2 upgrades team. They explained they had my information as I had opted in to allow marketing calls from O2 but not 3rd parties. I ve since changed to opt out but did upgrade with them as they were very helpful and offered me a really good deal I couldn t get through my local store. Hope this helps others :-)
