This is a guy who calls himself "Mick Parker", not his real name. He says he is in London. He is actually in Pune near Bombay. Seemingly friendly man called from "crime prevention services", saying that rogue traders had been a problem in the area. Apparently they have some sort of booklet where they name and shame rogue traders, but of course they also advertise genuine businesses. I told them I wasn t interested since I ve never seen any such magazine and couldn t see the value. Suspect it s a scam.
A person calling from this number claimed to be a Baliff collecting for an American Based Publisher called McKellan with a supposed court order for seizure of property to the value of several thousand pounds then offering to negotiate a lower penalty (Baliffs don t do this). McKellan appear to be connected with a charity called CPUK from whom it appears I received nuisance and threatening phone calls from after declining to make a second year contribution to their charity. had a miss call from this number. I phoned the number back on a different phone. They answered straightaway. They didn t say a company name. I put the phone down on them.
