Just taken a call from an Indian sounding gent ringing from BT about someone trying to access my internet connection. I'm not with BT, this is a scam call.

This number seems to be used for a classical telemarketing, or it is a directly some general call centre. They usually work for some third company and call with offer of some goods or services for the actual company they were hired for. In this case the number is mostly reported in connection with accident claims, just another insurance marketing company.

Company in London calling to sell advertising space in my local (Sheffield) post office.

Exactly same for me - £10 text regarding an apparent entry into prize draw for a range rover. Very unhappy and when I try to reply with "STOP", I am told a charge will be incurred. I don't want this to be another £10 charge. Annoyed. This is the second time something similar has happened and my contract is with Three - it will be cancelled soon as their lack of interest in helping in these matters is disgraceful.

I have seen this number in an alert message on my facebook. They say that they are HMRC & you owe money & there is a court case pending.Dont confirm or give them any personal information just hang up & if you can block their number.If they persist in calling then contact your local police on 101.
