SCAM, automated voice saying problem with card payments to Amazon for £700. Used a local code to me so that I would take the call.
SCAM claimed to be Tony from Carphone Warehouse but my andriod identified the caller as Al Kareem, a legitimate company, so they are using their number to think they are legit. Unless you use Al Kareem block this number

Said they were BT, I had too many people using my IP. The account name was wrong. They said they could block them from their server, but it would be better from my PC. After my challenges they sent a text message with a verification code. It said to change my password. I did. Had one previously, real BT support said it was a scam. Assumed this identical call was too. Only the false account name was a clue, otherwise how can you tell?

Phoned me and played a computer recodred message which claimed to be from my card provider, without telling me who they were. Told me that there had been suspicious transactions on my account and tried to get me to speak to them. I hung up and checked with my bank who told me that nothing of the sort could have happened. Missed call I just got to the phone in time for it to stop ringing. Not a recognised number, not in my contacts list, not from anywhere that I know anyone. I therefore conclude someone was trying to scam me.
