TAXES / HMRC Asked for me by name, introduced as Refund my taxes or something like that, then said it was in relation to my marriage allowance refund. I replied I am not married to which the response was "oh, you are no longer married?". Odd as I have never been married, however I had googled marriage allowance recently but at no point entered any of my own details...coincidence or pairing of my cookies to my name and number??

A link to a web site was left on the txt www.redelivery-nextday-gb.com I clicked on the link and a red screen came up with Deceptive Website Warning and this site may try to trick you into doing something dangerous like installing soft ware or disclosing personal or financial information like passwords, phone numbers or credit cards. SCAM - Left message about being Fraud Department at HMRC. (Should have listened to VM first!) Called back and odd ring like overseas dialtone, answered immediately by an indian sounding man who said he was inspector someone from HMRC fraud and criminal investigations dept, he asked for my name and address and kept me on hold. when I questioned what dept again he read off a London address, and said "In the UK" Hung up immediately. Probably cost me a fortune! PEST AND SCAMMERS, STAY AWAY!!
