It is a scam. This number was used to call me to say someone had fraudulently ordered a £750 i phone from Amazon and I should press a digit on my phone to be put through to someone who could help me. Checked my acct and nothing amiss.
Scam call, claiming to be from PC World regarding a phone promotion. Noisy Indian call centre. Soon as I mentioned the telephone preference service she hung up.
Text pretending to be o2 saying my payment to o2 was invalid and to log into attached website to change payment. Checked my bank and payment was going through normally, didn’t log onto website obviously!

On answering, I got a recorded message saying it was something to do with bank security, followed by a message that was intended to frighten. I hung up, and have blocked the number. They have called me 5 times in the past 4 days. Despite blocking their number, they are still trying to get through to me. They also leave blank messages on my answer phone. Avoid them like the plague and blocking them is the best advice I can give you.
IT'S A DANGEROUS SCAM! A computer is dialling numbers in sequence to sniff out voice lines. If you speak then the line is detected as 'an active voice line' and logged as such, a scammer will then be calling you later! If you don't recognize the number calling DON'T SPEAK, JUST LISTEN! If you don't hear a voice and then the line goes dead then congratulations - you have just successfully escaped being scammed! THESE CALLS ARE HARASSING AND ALWAYS POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS!

SCAM The caller was a recorded message suggesting they were from a Londoon Magistrate and stated that if I choose to ignore this information then my National Insurance number will be blocked and stop working. After another threat they told me to press 1 to speak to the officer in charge of the case. At which point I hung up.
