Scam/Fraud Recorded message stating that I had an arrest warrant against me for tax fraud - it then gives you an option to press '1' for something (by which time I'd hung up)... Obvious scam by whatever criminals are operating here.

This number calls me everyday at varied times, and has done so for several months. Occasionally, I answer, always with the intention of asking them to stop calling me, but there is only silence at the other end of the line for a few seconds before they terminate the call. Very sinister and extremely irritating. What can I do to stop this?

SCAM weird silent caller, breathing but not talking, call centre sounds in background, I waited a while and then said 'are you a pervert' ithey instantly hung up, are they fishing for real numbers people will answer and then using the numbers as calling lists for follow up scams or marketing?
This is not a complaint. I think this is the library renewals reminder service automated by Westminster City Libraries.

Number shown was a 01189 local number so i picked it up. No answer and the it hung up. Dialed 01471 to retieve number but, it actually was 018731006? meaning this was a scam caller.

Had a call from this number on my landline at 5:30pm on Wednesday 26th July. Heard two voices on the line when I answered - one a lady who identified herself by name & said she was a local energy adviser (although this phone number is not local to me) but did not give a company name, the other a gentleman talking in a foreign language. Just had a call to my landline from this number, saying it was a survey about loft installation and asking me to confirm a few details , which I refused to do, and then he said its nothing to worry about, I said I wasn't worried about anything otherwise it would be me ringing up someone, not them ringing me. I let him babble on a bit more and then said let me stop you there, it's my Husband you need to talk to not me and he's not in, so he just hung up. I would say this was a SCAM.
