Scam text regarding items missing from Census. Beware !
Computer generated voice informed me I was about to be prosecuted for tax fraud by HMRC and I "must press 1 immediately" to avoid imminent arrest.
These clowns call from India and are very abusive. Ask them to hold on a sec and just put phone on the side and go back to what you were doing. No point arguing or being abusive as they likely have your email address and obviously have your telephone number.
They have been calling for about a month now, never leaving a message just a dozen of missed calls a week. When I tried to answer, there was no response and then the call was disconnected. - This didn t happen just once but several times. I don t know what all of this is about but I m starting to think they try to get you to call back and scam you one way or another. Either way, I don t think it s save to pick up. So beware!

Claimed to be from Carphone Warehouse offering an iPhone 12, told him I wasn't interested numerous times and then he hung up on me

From Redhill, so ties in with First Credit. I did have a "Number Withheld" just before this one called so that could have been them as well! No message left.
called and I answered, silence and then they put the phone down on me! googled the number and found this site... thank God for the internet!
These people phone me and told me they were ringing on behalf of the government - they wanted to know personal health details. Told them to write to me but they just carried on reading from a script and I had to put the phone down
PPI claims pre-recorded message, tried to ring the number obtained through 1471 and appeared as a dead line.
The person on this number claims to be from BT and says I have problems with my computer?
