They then try to get you to go to www.ammyy.com, so that they can ostensibly "sort out" your problems by connecting to your computer but in reality they are trying to look for financial gain, i.e. passwords, credit card details or bank details.

SCAM / SPAM A pre-recorded set of messages saying my loft insulation that I had installed could be mouldy. Definitely scammy - they phoned my work number.

The guy rang about PPI. He had the wrong name for the number and when I pointed out it was a company number he wouldn t give up and said he wanted to help everyone. I told him I had no PPI and he still wouldn t give in. He wanted to know if I had gone through the claim before and I told him I have no loans or credit cards so then he moved onto whether I was sold PPI through a mortgage. I kept telling him my answer was no but he was very persistent.

SCAM called wanted to talk about my Virgin Media broadband which was about to be disconnected. When I told him that I don’t have service from Virgin Media and suspected a scam call he got abusive.

Had a Spam Call with 01223936981 displayed (Cambridge). Recorded message played to me with usual '£700' suspicious charge from Amazon and '£2000' International Charge made on my Account etc. Ignored the request to respond. Telephoned the displayed number 15 minutes later, got 'unobtainable signal'. Note : an hour earlier had the same call but with a local Northampton number displayed. I called this number and the residents did not know anything about the Call. They reported it to BT for investigation.

I ve been getting calls from this number every two days for a couple of weeks at varying times of day. I haven t answered them so I don t know who it is, but I suspect it s a sales call.
Not even worth entering into conversation with. Think of loads of Foreign words and say them all in one sentence at once, then keep repeating small parts of the sentence repeatedly. They just hang up :-)
