Asian accented guy called claimed to be from Virgin Media. Problem with my internet connection. Press the Windows key and type in certain things he'd show me and then fix it. I strung him along for a while. Supervisor tried the same. When I refused he said my internet connection would be switched off. I enjoyed our chat as while he was talking to me he couldn't be trying to con anyone else. He told me to f*** off. That confirmed he wasn't from Virgin as they don't usually end calls like that!

When I questioned what the account name was in, he told me I didn't need to give him that information as I'd already past security ??????? Scam....saying going to cut of internet in 24 hrs !!!!!
Phoned today at12.15 pm. Fairly gruff voice. Purportedly from BT. Asked me to confirm that I had been in touch with BT this morning. As I had, I said yes. There was some hesitation and a lot of background noise. I asked what he wanted. He asked if contact was by phone or mail (I think). I replied that the contact was on the internet and he abruptly ended the call.
SCAM - Claimed to be from Government - "Your National insurance no has been used for fraudulent purposes and is due to expire, press one to speak to us".

Very suspicious. Claim to be a service stopping nuisance calls. Ask to confirm all sorts of information, staring with public stuff (address, telephone) progressing to private stuff like expiry date of credit card!
Claimed to be surveying recent visit to Yorkshire bank. I asked what date was the visit. I had not been to the bank on that date I assume this to be a scam.
