A woman called me today from the Ministry of Justice and said that i was owed thousands of pounds from Barclays bank. She gave me this number to ring and was very forceful that i contact this number to claim my money. She also asked me to provide my bank details for a credit transfer. Do not call this number as it is a scam.

Silent call. Been getting a lot lately from unknown numbers and I usually let them go through to answerphone because they are from telesales/debt management unsolicited callers. Decided to answer this one, but I didn t speak, and the other end was complete silence. Probably just another machine doing their sleazy telesales calls for them so they don t have to even bother using a human. Another one to add to the blacklist.

This number just called my landline, the lady claimed that she was from Sky and that it had been reported time that my sky broadband was not performing at the correct speed. SCAM: The number 08000478737 is on a letter supposedly from Trading Standards saying a wine investment company I have shares with has gone bust. The letter comes with an Insolvency Service form to complete regarding my shares, and that i must complete it in order to get full value of my shares returned. I must telephone the number to give the answers. Except, the wine company hasn't gone bust & Trading Standards don't send out these kind of letters.

SCAM The lady identified herself as Linda and spoke with an Indian accent, knew my postcode and said she was calling about my boiler cover, which is on a high tariff that can be lowered. I pointed out we have no cover, she tried the spiel asking how old it was. I told her it is only a few years old, paid for outright and under warranty. I told her I thought she was trying to scam me and we are TPS registered. She said sorry you would receive another call.
