Chap claiming to be "Jim from Unique Preferences" (with a thick Indian accent) wanted to ask me "a few simple yes or no questions". He insisted he was not trying to sell me anything. This is a company that say they are a "Microsoft Certified Company", and that you have errors and malware on your computer. They then try to get you to go to www.ammyy.com, so that they can ostensibly "sort out" your problems by connecting to your computer but in reality they are trying to look for financial gain, i.e. passwords, credit card details or bank details.

Fraud The usual "Your BT internet and phone has been compromised and will be cut off in 24 hours" even though I'm not with BT. Followed up by wanting to download remote control access programmes on my laptop. I just feigned interest to leave them hanging on as long as possible; whilst they are hanging on waiting for me they aren't scamming somebody else.

Automatic robotic female voice message claiming to be from Amazon. Said my Amazon account would automatically renew today for £39.99. Hmmmmm..... I do not have an Amazon account. "If you need to speak to an operator press 1" so I did. Asian sounding bloke asked my name, address, Amazon account number and date of birth. Probably all he needed to order stuff from an Amazon account ! Called him a scammer and told him to foxtrot oscar. Beware people as I have never heard this one before.
