Indian sounding chap rang saying he was calling on behalf of "Telephone Preference Management" and asked if I was receiving nuisance calls and if so they were going to upgrade my service so that I will not receive any nuisance calls for the rest of my life. Well for a start I am not with BT and when he asked if I paid my telecoms bill by direct debit then it was time to politely tell him goodbye.
