No-one has sold a batch of numbers - it will just be the scammers using a list of fakes to display on your phone - I bet the numbers would be reported as unrec...

SCAM Guy called Daniel Gomes purporting to be from Amazon Prime informing me that someone in Manchester had tried to use my account and they needed to verify my details or my account would be suspended for my protection. I did not supply any information, but was told to think about it and call back on 0208 123 7233 which I certainly did not do. I was called again later and this time I hung up. I have received genuine e-mails from Amazon mentioning this type of scam.

Call centre / SPAM probably. Called me at 08.45 on 9th October. When answered there was just a muffled sounding voice, possibly a call centre?
This number was texted to Instagram user to get in touch via WhatsApp, they were pretending to be an actor Ciaran Hinds. Said they were in New York but trace says Derby England! No harm done but just to be aware!
This number is being used by a company to scam people about loft insulation.
