caller identified herself as Jennifer (Asian sounding voice) & said she was calling from BT & there was a problem with my computer & my service was about to be cut off. I was slightly concerned since I have a BT broadband account & was using my laptop at the time, but the tone of the call felt bogus so I hung up & checked number via Google.

Rang off leaving no voicemail. Unallocated Australian number according to 'net search.

They should not be doing this! There are a few things that you can do to stop them making calls to you in the future, and help to stop them making calls to others. Caller identified herself as Julie Smith from Signet Advice (as far as I could tell with some background noise). Said she d been informed I was recently injured in a car accident that wasn t my fault. I asked her how she knew that. She replied that she was sorry to bother me and would remove my phone number from their database and hung up on me without pausing for breath. Pond scum. (My number is registered with TPS and I can t stand talking to idiots so I ve reported them)
