SCAM
It is an automated call pretending to be from HMRC about tax fraud and that the recipient must press 1 to be connected with an agent. I very much hope that HMRC does not contact taxpayers in this way.
they say it's from a security center and claim that two large p[ayments have been deducted from my card - and to press 1, if made by me and 2 if not

I was given a brand new work phone just before lockdown. This eve at 8.50 pm it rang and I suprised answered. At first it was hard to hear, muffled, background noise, possibly TV. I kept saying Hello, hello, and a what sounded like a young teenage boy said hello. I asked who it was and he said his Mum had given him my number, it was Dave from finance. Received a call from this number saying they are from EE and wanted to inform me of some exclusive offers. For starters it sounds like they were outside by a road. And then they wanted to know my details. When asked why they wanted to know I was given a vague answer of "because of the data protection act". After asking my address they then wanted went onto ask questions about my payment methods. When I told them I was uncomfortable with answering that and challenged it, they got rather shirty!
