One of the most common and probably one of the most stressful scams! The call consists of a pre-recorded message saying you are under investigation for tax evasion and if you do not press one and talk to the representative an arrest warrant will be issued (this is a general brief of the script – it reappears with slight variations from time to time). Of course, after pressing one and connecting with a person they will try to convince you there is a tax due and you need to pay it right now.
Not a genuine number. London numbers don t start with a 2 after the 020.

SCAM / FRAUD: This number played an automated message claiming that my National Insurance number had been used fraudulently, and I needed to speak with the "police" to verify my identity before a warrant is put out on my name. The message then stated "press 1 now to speak with an officer before further action is taken against you" I spoke down the phone and said I knew it was a scam, and I wouldn't be complying. Funny enough, the call was then disconnected.
Not sure person would not say who they were, but said I had called them when I had not.
SCAM supposed to be YHN housing saying there was a problem with my rent. Rang YHN and they said they’ve had a few people ring about this and it’s a scam.
kept me talking saying you ve been very patient, I ve only a couple of more questions. Eventually I hung up. Annoying and worrying.
