called my mobile which said London. He said in foreign accent he is ringing from switzerland. He would tell me who his company was once I answered a question. I said he had 20 seconds to tell me nature of the call. He said how would I like to earn a lot of money working from home. I said you have 17 seconds left. He kept asking where I was up to in the countdown. I said while I finish counting down, what is he doing with his free hand. He had good enough English to get it and howled laughing at which I said
2nd call from ‘Chris’ about my apparently faulty insulation - if you interrupt him he just re-starts his monologue - so no point in trying to engage. Even that initial silence at start of call is a warning.
I got a fraud call from this number. They pretended to be from HMRC to tell me that a tax fraud case was filed against me and that I would soon be arrested.

Asian sounding person who said a warrant had been issued for my arrest due to tax evasion. they gave plausible sounding employee id and case ref no. their tone was very aggressive. trid to get me to pay some money to avoid going to court. i said my husband had bank card they would phone later. they never didi. this is a scam so report it at once. I checked with HMRC and my accounts are all fine
Seems to be used for some telemarketing call center - this range of numbers 1792917xxx (common feature, they use more numbers of the same range) is mostly reported with PPI claims (also reclaim money from holidays - "Reviews centre") / insurance marketing / energy schemes. Just block it if not interested (I use the app from these pages, no problems). People did they call you with the same or something new?
I had also received some calls before, but I had not paid too much attention. One day I responded to that call and I realized it was not the usual calling to change your telephone company, but they wanted to give me the opportunity to earn through online trading. I accepted and now I'm learning how to do operations using a demo account. Then, I will open an account and proceed with real market transactions.
