Fraud tried to make out they were the tac office and their was warrant out for outstanding tax bill if I didnt press one when I did I told him it wasnt my phone and it was an 85 year old phone he put down I phoned back and got nothing but internet dial tones

Automated call telling me it was the HMRC with a warrant for unpaid taxes. If I didn't press 1 then the warrent would be sent to the Police. I work in finance payroll so I know that my taxes are upto date. Also, the HMRC do NOT contact people like this with threatening phone calls.

Fraud - Recorded message claimed to be from HMRC saying a fraud had been committed on my tax account. A warrant for my arrest had been issued and if I didn’t press 1 immediately then the Police would be round very shortly to arrest me
An automatic message threatening with legal action regarding national insurance number and suspicious activity. Legal departments never do that over the phone. Number blocked.

they ask lots of invasive questions, avoid clearly stating what the purpose of the call is. Say they are only asking 3 questions and ask far more. Ultimately they want you to donate to a dog charity and then ..........ask if you want home security. Don't bother answering and if you do - lie.
