Bot call to check if person behind number is real, got call most likely due to being spam called recently from known scammers. Calls, when answered, will keep connection alive until you say something, then hangs up. Most likely records what you say to then give to other members of scam organizations that will most likely cold call to scam further.

SCAM Comes up on a PC as a Microsoft Help desk number, as part of a common scam. A window pops up on your PC, claiming you have viruses on your PC, and your personal data, banking data, etc is at risk. It wants you to call this number, so Microsoft staff can help you fix your PC. Called and said that is from HMRC. Spam caller.
Same Indian person who called last week about SSE shares. When asked if he represented SSE he did have the decency to say No directly. At which point the call was terminated. Obviously they do not record the results of their calls, so can we expect more calls in the future with the hope that we will in a moment of madness change our position?
