Just got called by this number for the first time, it was an Asian woman wanting to discuss a matter regarding my account with lloyds. She wouldn't tell me any more, unless I "confirm" my d.o.b. and post code; I declined and asked them to mail me instead. Rang Lloyds afterwards and they told me that no Lloyds number starts with 0808 and that there was no issue to discuss. My advice is to block this number.

I ve just had a call from this number and it was a foreign woman who stated that she was calling from Talk Talk and, what I could just about understand from her accent, was that there was a problem with my Talk Talk and that she would like to go through it with me whilst I am on my computer. I asked her again what it was all about and she muttered something about nothing!! I then asked her, "Who said that I am on Talk Talk"? To which she hung up!

Seems to be used for some telemarketing call center - this range of numbers 14227180xx (common feature, they use more numbers of the same range) is mostly reported with car accidents, PPI claims, insurance marketing. Just block it if not interested (I use the app from these pages, no problems). Folks did they call you with the same or something new? When asked to be removed from the database caller said that he would call me back every day. Repeated my request and he said he wasn't asking for permission he would call me back every day so I hung up
SCAM This number called me saying they were Sky Broadband and said that other people were trying to hack into my broadband. To stop this they needed details of all the devices I had currently connected to my broadband. At this point I ended the call and phoned Sky for myself. They told me that nobody had phoned me from Sky, there were no problems with my broadband and that the company who called me were trying to get details of my devices so they could hack them for bank details etc.

called and said router was having problems and would offer £200 as compensation. then when did the bank transfer they made a 'mistake' and transferred £2,000. as a gesture of goodwill they would only ask for £700 back. this was transferred by Moneygram (I know - caught my partner when unwell and not thinking straight). also took over my laptop and remotely accessed who knows what. SCAM. Talktalk will never call you. don't tell the scammers anything. Police and Talktalk aware.
