Said it was an urgent financial matter. very strong south African accent. I wish they d catch these crooks.

Three calls today. Have my name and landline number even though ex-directory. Claimed to be from my home towns "Workers" whatever that s supposed to be. Phishing for information, did I work in "industry" (didn t specify which). Suspect they re trying to build a mugs list for compensation claim calls.

Phoned at 13.20 29 April purporting to be from Halifax Fraud department stating there had been suspect activity on my account and requesting various card details in order to cancel the transactions. I called the Halifax Fraud number and cancelled my card.

I rang this number back, automated answer says they are GID Ltd, "and you have been called today in relation to your recent financial comitment"

Identified as Your Mortgage Review Intimidating mature lady caller encouraging me to change my mortgage to one with a lesser interest rate given that we re in a climate of low interest rates.. She started off with little information on me but I did tell her my current lender. Then questioned me as to why I am staying with them given that they re charging such high interest. Automatic voice stating they were from HMRC - I hung up promptly as I believe it to be a scam. HMRC always write and never ring mobiles or landlines.

Watch Out! I called this number from my BT landline and got billed for £4.71 plus vat.

Recurring calls from this number - vmails left has no message - so far 5 calls received today alone
