Another nuisance call I was about to hang up on but then they seemed to know about my hotpoint washing machine which was apparently about to run out of insurance. I was led to believe I was paying £58 for the 3 year policy. The only thing which stopped them was that I didn t have enough in the account for the £175 the telemarketer was actually trying to put through!!! From the background noise, some sort of a call centre. I couldn't understand the guy so I asked him to repeat what he said, and he instantly hung up. When I tried to call back to see who it was, BT said "the number has not been recognised". Obviously yet another scam.
My home phone was out of order so I went to the BT site and it came back with this number 0903 7084140 and upon ringing it got through to a BT help desk who was trying to fix the problem with my phone when i was disconnected. I then went on the chat line and was put through to an Indian customer services department who in the end told me it was a BT fault even though i had checked for any problems with the phone in the area. i then received an SMS text from BT advising me i was at my 50 pounds allowance on
