Scammer. Caller claimed they were from Microsoft and that they needed to fix computer as it was sending critical error messages. Not even logged into any machine, so a load of nonsense. Told them they were talking nonsense and only trying to spam/scam people. Needless to say they quickly hung up. Caller possibly overseas and routing to a UK number.

The number = 01709889223, this number phoned me today (at 13:08 on 1st March 2022) and the caller stated they were from BT OUTBOUND ringing about my telephone. They were indian, male and middle aged, they identified themselves as John Martin. I am ex-directory and my phone is registered with the telephone preference service to block sales calls and unwanted calls. I checked online and the number was listed as Indian and Rotherham based. Said was from EE PROMOTIONAL team. Hung up as EE CALL from their contact centres and appear as an 03 number and not a domestic landline number. Caller was indian from their accent and dialect. Likely using a voip set up . Do not give details and hang up.

Phoned said my name then said its your bank we need to veryfi unusual activity on your bank account, give me your full name, address date of birth. I said NO, he insisted and I said NO, you have phoned me I don't know who you are he then hung up. I contacted my bank immediately and it was not one of their phone numbers.

This no is from someone providing loans and they say that you have cleared all checks and you have 100% been accepted for the loan you just need to pay £41 to make it a secured loan this is so they can see that they can afford the repayments but another company would only take a £1 to confirm your card is yours and working then they give u it back if what they say is what it's for a copy of your bank statement would be more than sufficient not and the caller id no is false SCAM
