Call starts by automated voice thanking me for the purchase of an Iphone for over £700.00 via amazon and then telling you its coming soon and if you did not make the purchase to enter details. Clearly a scam as I did not order anything. My Amazon account is not compromised. Just evil scammers trying to get your banking details. Beware that number!
This is a scam caller. They will know your name but don't verify anything nor give them any information. They are based in India.

You receive a genuine text message from O2 with a security code. Spam. Was an automated message with threat that my internet is going to be disconnected. I have a BT line, so I put the phone down on it and then picked it up and waited for dial tone and then dialled 1572, which allowed me to block the last calling number. Not sure if that blocking facility works on other providers landlines. But worth a try. It's a neat facility.

Brechin (Scotland) cloned number allegedly from 02. A scam offering 40% off your O2 account. - I know it is a 100% scam as (a) I have had one of these calls before and (b) I ceased to be an O2 customer 4 years ago. Suspect someone hacked their site or an ex-employee has flogged their data to scammers. Foreign guy said he'd send a special code in a text/email but to not divulge it to anyone - probably because everyone gets the same and they don't want you to compare notes!
