I just answered a call from this number but did not speak - a trick I use to "fool" automated systems into thinking that nobody picked up. The call hung up after 6 seconds or so with nobody attempting to speak from the other end. This is typical behaviour of auto-diallers so I guess it was someone trying to sell something. I ve added the number to my phone s blocked list.

I called it back and it rang for 1 ring and again it hung up. checking my phone records I've had a few calls and it is a, "Recently had an accident call" . This a nuisance call. This number called my 90 year old mother posing as the fraud department from the Bank of Scotland. He said 2 lots of money had left her account and they were chasing this up. Thankfully she phoned the bank and it was confirmed that these transactions had not happened. It was a scam, I think to get her personal details, not any account numbers - perhaps identity theft. He phoned her again today apologising for not phoning back yesterday but my mum was very blunt with her replies and he hung up.
