automated call telling me there has been a suspicious foreign currency transaction on my debit card for £600 (strange its exactly £600 in a foreign currency!!!) and that I should press '2' to speak to a customer service advisor. Pressed '2' to see where it would divert me and went straight through to a foreign call centre.
i just received a phone call from 01616572740 with an automated voice telling me I was being investigated for tax fraud and if I didn't press "1" straight away I would be arrested.
A person rang saying they were from the Financial Conduct Authority and were ringing to help me recover money. I said they were a scammer and hung up.
This number has rung each day for the last 3 days but there is no one there...it holds on for about 10 seconds then cuts off.

have been getting these calls regularly, once daily for several weeks. I usually ignore the call when my caller display shows this number. Last week I rang 1471 for the hell of it and got a recorded message -your wine club tried to contact you. I am actually a Laithwaites member and use them when I want to order wine. These calls seem to be part of a wider push to bring in more sales. However the recorded message also gives you an other number to ring if you wish not to receive further calls. This is 0800 6

SCAM - potential Fraud Caller advises of an unusual purchase on your Amazon Prime account - in this instance £1049 - and asks for either confirmation (respond button 1) or query (respond button 2) . Curiously they refer to a card payment with "your usual payment card" and give no confirmation such as last 4 digits. Has all the makings of seeking to get you to part with bank/credit card details.
