Called this number back & she claimed to be from HMRC who apparently have served me with two warrants around miscalculation of Tax. They apparently called at my home on two occasions during lockdown when I was home and not allowed to leave me house. She was very plausible, giving me a name, badge number and warrant ref numbers. SCAM ! A personal EE mobile phone number that pretends to be from the uk government, offering financial help with heating bills. Just “click on the link and fill in all your details” ????. Obviously I didn’t. But be warned. No way the government would send this sort of text from a mobile phone number!
My mother who answered the phone almost had a heart attack as their opening line was "your family member had a serious car accident". 5 more calls followed.
