No one else should know the phone number, unless it has been recycled from a while ago (who knows how long that might be?) or the call may have originated from a phone dialler which was just workjng its way through a sequence.

I had a call from 08004118899 trying to persuade me to buy plan to cover a Hotpoint washing machine as according to them my warranty has expired. Since I have never registered this machine and I doubt the respected shop from which it was bought would give them my details I was suspicious of their company and proposed service. Looking at these comments it would appear I am correct in resisting their advances.
